CLIMATE LAB

Through an amplification of weather conditions, the Climate Lab forces people to face and contend with the forces of nature. In the design of the space for the lab, a full commitment to nature’s own geometries - crystalline structures - allows for a thorough capturing of nature and all of its expressions of “waterness.” Given the precedence of climate change, the Lab is meant to make the visitor feel discomfort and hyper-aware of the forces of nature. In addition to being able to be flooded over and rained upon, the Climate Lab  is meant to degrade over time. Asking the question: What does it mean to build a climate lab that will lose its function if the effects of climate change continue to expedite?
